Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark and NYPD officials announced that 29 people, including a teenager, were indicted in connection to shootings in Highbridge and violence at Rikers Island.
Clark says the members and allies are allegedly from the RPT organization. They’re being charged with attempted murder, attempted assault and use of firearms.
Authorities said some of the suspects were arraigned in the Bronx Supreme Court and that one had bail set. The remaining alleged members will be arraigned soon.
Authorities say six suspects are still on the loose.
Clark said that some of the violence was promoted and even rapped about on social media through videos, some taunting rival gang members and showing weapons.
She also said some suspects face animal cruelty charges after they livestreamed themselves beating a pigeon, comparing it to a rival gang member walking into their turf.
