Mayor: City to bring hyperlocal COVID-19 focus to Soundview

Mayor Bill de Blasio says the city will continue with its hyperlocal focus on the fight against COVID-19.
The mayor says the city’s next focus will be Soundview in the Bronx.

He says rapid testing will happen at Clason Point Library through Sept. 15.
So far, 570 people have been tested and 4,773 doors have been knocked, according to the city.
The city’s last hyperlocal focus area was Sunset Park in Brooklyn. The mayor says the positive test percentage went from 4.2% to 1.3%. He says 10,454 people were tested, and 22,148 doors were knocked.
The mayor also stressed the importance for the Census, reminding New Yorkers that the deadline is Sept. 30.
