Mayor: Test and Trace Corps will focus on Sunset Park after recent COVID-19 uptick
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday that the city’s Test and Trace Corps will be focusing on Sunset Park in Brooklyn after a recent uptick in positive COVID-19 cases.
The mayor says 3,300 were tested in the last two weeks, and 228 of those were positive cases.
The mayor says the city will be looking into what may have caused the surge in cases and is urging everyone in that area to get tested.
Starting Wednesday, the Test and Trace Corps will be doing door knocks, making phones calls and doing live calls in Sunset Park.
The first one will be at the corner of 44th Street and 6th Avenue from Wednesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The second one will be at CORE Brooklyn Herald Gospel Center on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Testing will also be expanded at Brooklyn Army Terminal starting Monday.
