As the state looks to phase schools back into in-person learning, teachers from Wayne are asking for help in getting their COVID-19 vaccinations.

While teachers will become eligible to receive their vaccinations on March 15, educators are concerned if they will be able to receive their shots on time.

Eda Ferrante is president of the Wayne Education Association, which represents over 800 teachers and secretaries in the Wayne School District. She says the main obstacle will be getting an appointment.

Once they are eligible, teachers from the district are calling for a vaccination site that will cater just to them.

Wayne schools are currently on a hybrid model of virtual and in person, but in person learning is being phased in for a full return later this year.
