Bronx and Brooklyn residents can expect thunderstorms that will give way to a steady rain overnight, according to News 12 meteorologists.
They say winds could to reach up to 25 to 35 mph. The strong winds could potentially bring down scattered branches, trees and power lines.
Scattered power outages are also expected.
Drivers are advised to use extra caution on the roads, and residents are asked to secure outdoor objects.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Friday.
