WEATHER TO WATCH: Pop-up showers possible for NYC Sunday

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Allan Nosoff says the New York City metropolitan area could see a few pop-up showers and downpours on Sunday ahead of more showers and storms on Monday.

NOW: Mostly cloudy with a few pop-up downpours. Most remain dry overnight.
NEXT: Another small chance of showers/downpours Sunday afternoon and evening, warmer with midday sun.
NEXT - HEAT ALERT: First prolonged heat wave in a while starting Tuesday. As of now, SEVEN straight days of 90+ highs in the forecast.

OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy and humid. An isolated shower can't be ruled out. Lows around 71.
SUNDAY: A little more sunshine than Saturday, especially in the morning/early afternoon. A few pop-up showers & downpours possible for the afternoon.
MONDAY - WEATHER TO WATCH: Several rounds of showers and storms. Best chance of more significant storms during the evening. Highs near 85. Lows down to 75.
TUESDAY - HEAT ALERT BEGINS: Mostly sunny and turning hot! Highs up to 92. Feels like 95. Lows near 77.
WEDNESDAY- HEAT ALERT: Very hot, hazy, and humid. Highs near 95 away from the water. Feels like 98-100+. Lows around 80.
THURSDAY- HEAT ALERT: Hazy, hot, and humid. A few isolated PM storms. Highs around 92. Lows near 75.
FRIDAY- HEAT ALERT: Hazy, hot, and humid. Plenty of sun. Highs near 93. Lows near 78.
