A pizza shop in the Bronx that serves as a clubhouse to Fordham students is back open after closing its doors for a few months.
Pugsley Pizza is tucked away on a residential street directly behind the dorms of Fordham University. It has been there for 35 years, serving up pies to pizza-loving college students.
"They feel at home, they can chill with friends, hang out,” said owner Salvatore Natale.
When Fordham closed in mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic, Pugsley Pizza shut its doors shortly after.
The owner says he has missed the business, but mostly the students.
"The students are my life… It’s like a rock star, no fans,” said Natale.
It is back open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and still closed on the weekends.
It is open for pickup, delivery and outdoor dining on its patio.
