With the arrival of September, the West Indian American Day Carnival has finally arrived, with some of the festivities already getting started.
Artists took to the stage Thursday, including the local celeb, Voice! The event, called ‘Vibes with Voicey’, was at full capacity – something those who celebrate the carnival haven’t seen since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are bringing one of our biggest events which is vibes with Voicey. It started back in Trinidad in the COVID season,” said Denzil Flanders, one of the organizers for the event. “We are here for the people to create memories and just have a good time.”
Thursday’s concert is expected to go into the early morning hours, with the parade set to take place on Monday.
