Westchester County Executive George Latimer has declared Nov. 8 as "Joseph Frank Day" in honor of Westchester's oldest living veteran.
Mr. Frank, an Army infantryman, exhibited exceptional bravery during World War II.
He saw combat overseas and received numerous commendations, including the Purple Heart. He also earned the American Defense Service Medal during his military service.
Beyond his selfless service, what distinguishes him is his deep-rooted connection to Westchester. A lifelong resident who attended Port Chester High School, Mr. Frank holds the distinction of being the county's oldest living veteran at the remarkable age of 106.
