Dr. Odai Sinocrat, a pulmonologist at Maimonides Medical Center, says monitoring the air quality index is of utmost importance for those with an increased risk. According to the doctor, if the AQI is 50 or above – mask up until the numbers tick down.
Airnow.gov put the AQI for the Bronx at 37 as of 6 p.m. Monday.
Dr. Sinocrat says Bronx residents with a pre-existing conditions should check in with their doctors and stay on top of symptoms if any occur.
