Despite a successful run, Brian Williams is stepping down as the head football coach at Harry S. Truman High School.
Williams has had five winning seasons with the Mustangs and led the team to two straight playoff appearances. Still, the coach said it was time to move on.
"There are some things I put off," Williams, who also cited his family as a reason, said. "I'll still be around the program. I just won't be blowing a whistle on the field."Williams said he hopes to get more media coverage and recruiters to the school and help players develop academically.
John Sheppard will be taking over the program.
