The NYPD says a 77-year-old woman was apparently assaulted Friday night in her Brooklyn home and later died.

Police say they responded to a call of a possible assault at 361 East 45th St.

Officials say they found a woman with bruising and swelling throughout her entire body.

She was transported to SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

News 12 was told that the medical examiner’s office has yet to determine the cause of death.
