Woman claims city’s extension of Homebound Vaccination Program is no help
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced an extension of the Homebound Vaccination Program to all residents 75 years and older, regardless if they’re homebound or not. However, 68-year-old Deborah Wonder says the city has been no help.
Wonder is immunocompromised and unable to leave her home.
Wonder says when she found out about the extension she was left frustrated. Wonder says she applied for the program on March 24.
She says she hadn’t been given a date for her vaccination or told what to do next since then.
She says when speaking with a representative over the phone, they tell her to keep waiting and say there is “no information to provide.”
“The thing that bothers me so much about this whole mess is it isn't so much that I had to wait since March 24 and I still have no answer,” said Wonder.
She says she’s previously had COVID-19 and is terrified of getting sick again. As a result, she says she hasn’t left her home.
