A woman says her dog was stolen from Bay Plaza on Saturday afternoon.
Shadiya Cofie says her dog, Jaycee, is a 3-year-old American pit bull.
Cofie tells News 12 a loved one tied him to a hydrant while briefly running into a store.
During that time, surveillance footage shows two women walking Jaycee to their car.
Cofie says if the women who took the dog were concerned for the dog’s safety, they could have called the police, 311, contacted the mall’s security or gone into the store to ask if the owner was there.
Cofie says she checked several local shelters, and Jaycee is not at any of them.
She and her grandmother have been hanging up flyers to help find Jaycee.
