Superstars from World Wrestling Entertainment are in town this week ahead of the SummerSlam event at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, and they made a stop at the Boys and Girls Club of Kips Bay to tackle bullying.
Wrestlers like Apollo Crews, Bayley and Nia Jax shared personal stories to encourage the children to stand up against bullying for the WWE's Be A Star anti-bullying program.
"Probably the biggest message that we spread is blocking out the bullying," Bayley says. "As a kid I was bullied about loving wrestling, loving WWE or dressing like a tomboy...And I was embarrassed to tell my mom, because I didn't want her to be ashamed I didn't have friends or that people didn't like me."
The WWE says it will be hosting more local events throughout the week ahead of SummerSlam Sunday.
