Unvaccinated Yale New Haven Health workers could face termination

Employees at one of the largest health care networks in the state risk termination if they're not in compliance with the company's COVIID-19 vaccine mandate.
The mandate applies to Yale New Haven Health employees at Bridgeport Hospital and throughout the state.
Employees were required to show proof of vaccination or an exemption by today.
Yale New Haven Health set a deadline of Oct. 1 for all employees to comply. A little over 500 of the network's 30,000 employees have not gotten the COVID-19 vaccine or have successfully filed an exemption.
Yale New Haven Health officials say most of the employees who have yet to comply are in food services, environmental services, and finance departments. The company says employees who were not in compliance will get a verbal and written warning starting today and could soon face termination.
Earlier this month, executives at Yale New Haven Health announced they expected to have to terminate between 100 and 200 workers.
