Since Feb. 5, Yankee Stadium has served as a major vaccination site for Bronx residents. Now, with the Yankees opening their season in a week, what could this mean for residents who are depending on the location for vaccinations?
As of now through March 31, the vaccination site is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Once the season begins, there will be two sets of hours. On days when the Yankees have a night game at home, the site will be open from 8 a.m. until noon.
When the Yankees are away or have a day off, the stadium says the hours will be from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Once the season begins on April 1, News 12 is told that vaccinations at the stadium will continue through at least April 30.
There are six dates in April when there is a day game, and the stadium will not be administering vaccines on those dates.
By opening day, the stadium anticipates having administered 81,000 doses of vaccines to more than 52,000 people.
