Yonkers officer injured during response released from hospital
A Yonkers police officer injured during an incident last Monday has been released from the hospital.
A police department spokesman says the officer, who is in his 50s, was released from Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx last week.
The officer was one of several who responded to 52 Main St. on a report of a man waving a gun and threatening people.
During the event, the officer was injured when he fell from a third-floor landing to the second-floor landing.
Police are investigating the incident as an attempted suicide by police officer.
The suspect, 24-year-old Lamont Jackson of Yonkers, has been charged with assault, menacing a police officer and falsely reporting an incident.
