News 12 is shining a light on Clifford Robin Temprosa, a young man in Morris Park who is dedicating his life to improving and advocating for his community.

At 21 years old, Temprosa is wise beyond his years. Born in the Philippines, his family moved to the Bronx when he was a child where he's now leaving his mark on Morris Park.

"A lot of what I do is really grassroots and genuinity. I believe genuinity is a real value that we need to insert into society and the moral fabric," he says.

Hs desire to give back stems from his commitment to Delta Epsilon Psi at the New York Institute of Technology, a South Asian fraternity dedicated to service as well as his roots.

"I'm Filipino and Chinese so both sides are typically a loving, family first, value-oriented culture."

When the pandemic hit, he says he saw various disparities hitting the community hard and wanted to help. He volunteered with the Morris Park BID, giving away food and COVID supplies.

"People say life is short but also life is long, and it's defined in moments where you need to be able to help the person next to you."

Temprosa is now a community liaison for Assembly member Nathalia Fernandez.

As for what's next, he says, "I want to be wherever the change takes me. Whether it's the BID, whether it's any community organization whether it's in the Bronx, Long Island, Queens - if you need support, I'd love to make that happen."

He also wants to mentor kids and make sure they see more people like him making a difference in the community.
