Latest on Snow Risk:
A sharp cold front will bring a quick coating of up to 1 inch of snow on Sunday morning, creating slippery conditions early. There is a slight chance some isolated areas could see up to 2 inches. This is not an all-day event and will bring just nuisance issues. The snow on Sunday comes with a blast of cold air. Temperatures will be bitterly cold Sunday afternoon through Monday night, with highs near or below freezing and morning lows in the teens.
A mid-week storm arrives Tuesday, but it continues to look warmer and weaker than earlier model guidance suggested. Expect a brief snow event, starting Tuesday afternoon before it transitions to rain by Wednesday. This could lead to sloppy and even icy conditions during the transition.
The Next Few Days
Saturday will be a nice day and Connecticut will see more snow melt occur after some refreezing into the morning. Temperatures will be in the mid- to upper 40s, with some morning clouds and then increasing sunshine.
It gets very cold Sunday night and Monday. The snowmelt process will come to a temporary halt. Temperatures will be in the teens Monday morning, with wind chills ranging from about 5 to 10 degrees. Highs in the afternoon will most likely stay below freezing.
With snow to rain expected Tuesday into Wednesday, warmer weather will follow, with highs in the 40s and 50s for the end of the week.
