The calendar says October, but it will feel more like early June as warm winds carries a southern air mass up the east coast complete with a smidgeon of humidity too.
A bubble of fair weather is slowly moving off the Jersey shoreline. The winds are going to become more southwesterly tonight into tomorrow. This will allow warmer, slightly more humid air to move back over New Jersey for the next few days.
Thursday, while warmer, will also have a few extra clouds mixing in with sunshine during the afternoon. Daytime highs will climb to the low 80s for many neighborhoods. That is more common to see during the second week of June than the beginning of October.
A weak weather system will slide thru on Friday. Out ahead of this front the air will warm quickly with early sunshine. The rapid warm-up and the weather system could trigger a few showers.
Saturday is dry but slightly cloudy. Highs should be in the low to mid-70s. It is also trending better for Sunday with a lower chance for rain for most of the state. I still think the opportunity is there for some showers along the shoreline. Something that still needs to be monitored.
The fall foliage report shows that the trees are beginning to change colors north and west.
