At least 11 corrections officers were injured Wednesday night when an inmate attacked them with a pipe at Bronx Criminal Court.
It happened Wednesday at Sheridan Avenue and the Grand Concourse.
Officials say the inmate resisted being transferred to his cell and broke a pipe off of a wall that he used to attack several officers.
At least 11 officers were injured, and some were taken to the hospital including the inmate involved in the incident.
A Department of Corrections spokesperson told News 12 in a statement, "Any assault on a member of our staff is unacceptable and this inmate will be arrested. Our officers put their safety on the line on behalf of New Yorkers every day and we thank them for all they do."
The incident remains under investigation.
