A dozen "foreign fugitives" were arrested following a five-day operation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New York.
One of the fugitives was a Kazakhstani national, who was arrested in the Bronx. Three fugitives were arrested in Brooklyn.
According to the agency, all those arrested during the operation were known as "foreign fugitives," which meant they were wanted for committing serious crimes abroad but sought sanctuary in New York.
The operation took place from Dec. 1 to Dec. 5.
Officers also made arrests in Flushing, Forest Hills, Manhattan, New Rochelle, Ridgewood and Staten Island.
