17-year-old dead after double shooting in the Bronx
A 17-year-old has died after a double shooting in the Bronx.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday at College Avenue and East 170th Street in Mount Eden.
Police say 17-year-old Dontay Gordon and a 21-year-old man were both shot.
Gordon was shot in the chest, and the 21-year-old man was shot in the stomach.
Police say both were transported to Lincoln Hospital, where Gordon later died.
The victim's older brother, Durand Gordon Jr., was killed in a shooting near his home six years ago, according to his father, Durand Gordon.
Gordon's father says he believes his son was not the intended target in the shooting.
His father says Gordon was an aspiring rap artist about to enter his senior year at Renaissance High School.
Neighbors set up a makeshift vigil outside his Morris Avenue home Thursday.
Police say the 21-year-old man remains in critical condition at the hospital, but they have not released his identity.
No arrests have been made.
