A teen is dead after an overnight shooting in West Farms.
Police say 17-year-old Vlana Roberts was shot the in the back after a large fight on the 2100 block of Vyse Avenue around 11 p.m., just three blocks from where she lives.
Roberts was shot in the torso and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she later died.
One of the victim's friends says her group was staying out of trouble when the shooter opened fire.
"I don't know even want to go outside anymore," said the victim's friend, who didn't want to be shown on camera. "All I know is an innocent life was taken."
Roberts was a high school student. A candlelight vigil was held in front of Roberts' Boston Road home Sunday afternoon.
No arrests have been made.
