The MTA has removed two Bx27 stops in Soundview, officials say.
The east and westbound bus stops on Randall Avenue between Lawrence and Beach avenues have been removed.
Residents living in the area say they didn't even realize the bus stops had been removed, and now have to walk a block and a half to two blocks away to another stop. They blame the MTA for not informing the public of the recent changes.
Residents say although the nearest stop is only a block and a half away, it is located near the Soundview housing complex.
One resident tells News 12 she feels unsafe walking to the bus stop because of crime-related activity near the Soundview Houses.
Others argue that disabled people or senior citizens cannot walk that far to get to the bus stop.
The MTA commented by saying the two stops were removed because they did not fall into the MTA guidelines.
