2 men barge into man’s house, steal $20K
A 70-year-old Bronx man says he thinks someone set him up for two men to break into his house and steal more than $20,000 at gunpoint.
The victim, who asked to remain anonymous, says he leaves his house every morning at 2:15 a.m. to go to work. On Monday, he found two men waiting outside the front door armed with a revolver and a stun-gun. He says they forced him back inside and tied him up.
The men tore through his home, the victim says, searching for a safe that only one other family member was supposed to know about. They threatened him, demanding its location, and broke things, he says.
"I thought I was going to die," he says. "I thought they were going to kill me."
The intruders eventually found the safe hidden under the victim's bed.
He says one of the assailants was 6 feet 1 inch tall and 250 pounds, and the other was 5 feet 7 inches tall.
