Two men from The Bronx are being called heroes after rescuing two puppies that were lost during Sandy.
Josh Schwartz and his friend, Justin, heard one of the puppies, a German Shepard mix, yelping on the dock of Hammonds Cove Marina.
When the men approached the puppy, they noticed another puppy in the water.
Schwartz said his friend pulled the struggling puppy out of the water to safety.
The dogs have been adopted and are on their way to a new home on Long Island.
