2nd arrest made in shooting death of 14-year-old
A second arrest has been made in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old Bronx boy.
Authorities say they have arrested Jeremiah Thomas in connection with the death of Christopher Duran. They say they tracked down Thomas in Philadelphia on Monday.
Police have already charged Travis Bloch with murder. The 28-year-old was back in court Tuesday, and it was during his appearance that officials announced the new arrest.
Bloch is being charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say he and Thomas ambushed Duran outside of his Sheridan Avenue apartment building on May 22. Duran's father says Christopher was waiting for a taxi with his brother to go to school when the shooting occurred. He was shot six times in the torso and once in the neck.
Thomas is being extradited to face charges in the Bronx.
Bloch is facing additional charges for shooting Jorge Ortiz a week earlier with the same weapon. He's also being charged with resisting arrest, and selling marijuana to an undercover agent in 2014.
