3 St. Barnabas doctors compete in Ironman Triathlon
Three doctors from St. Barnabas say they stay fit and excel in the workplace by training and competing in Ironman Triathlons.
Dr. Mark Klion, Dr. Eric Appelbaum and Dr. Chris Gratham have all completed the Ironman Triathlon multiple times.
The race consists of a 2.4-mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run.
All three doctors say training is vital in order to compete in the strenuous competition.
"The eating part is so important, you know the exercise part, taking care of our bodies," says Dr. Appelbaum.
The doctors even claim the race helps them in their professional lives.
"Well, if I'm feeling better than I can be in a better mood in taking care of my patients," says Dr. Appelbaum.
All three doctors are still participating in various races all over the country.
