A massive fire spread through multiple Brownsville buildings, leaving at least two firefighters injured in Brooklyn.
Rockaway Avenue was lined with firetrucks just before 5 p.m. Monday evening, as more than 130 firefighters and EMS members responded to a fire at 550 Rockaway Ave.
The fire was reported on the first floor of the three-story home and then spread to the neighboring buildings.
Residents who were evacuated to the sidewalk said they thought the fire started out back, possibly from a grill.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 45 minutes
News 12 reached out to the Red Cross to see if they are helping any tenants of the building but has not heard back.
