The annual Community Engagement Day Parade was held in Baychester Saturday.
The event united residents of all ages and ethnicities with the NYPD and other organizations to promote peace in their neighborhoods.
Councilman Andy King headed the event with the motto, "People pay attention to people who participate."
"The only way for us to be better and stronger, whether it's politically, economically, financially, educationally...We've got to work together," said King. "And that's what today is about – bringing us all together in a joyous occasion."
The parade started at East Gun Hill Road and Eastchester Road.
A prayer service was also led by pastors, bishops and ministries of different denominations.
