5 hospitalized in Allerton apartment fire
Several people were hospitalized after an early morning fire in an Allerton apartment complex.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building near Barker Avenue around 5 a.m.
Firefighters say the blaze was under control within minutes, but some roofs are collapsing due to the water used to extinguish it.
Five people, including two firefighters, were taken to Jacobi Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.
News 12 is told all five people are in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
