Police say a 7-year-old girl was hit in the leg by a bullet Sunday night.

They say the shooting happened at around 9 p.m. on Cauldwell Avenue and East 158th Street in Morrisania. The girl's family members say they were walking home from having dinner when the shooting occurred. The victim's dad says there were two groups nearby.

The little girl is now home recovering after being released from Lincoln Hospital. She even received some special gifts from the NYPD's community outreach.

Police say they are searching for six men in connection with the shooting.
