AAA forecasts busiest holiday commute on record
The MTA announced Friday it will be adding more trains to its schedule to accommodate commuters on what is expected to be one of the busiest holiday travel weekends on record, according to AAA.
According to AAA, more than 103 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this holiday weekend beginning Friday through Monday.
They say that it's a 1.5 percent increase in the amount of drivers of the road in 2015 and the highest figure on record since AAA began recording data in 2001.
MTA officials say the transit company will be running more trains later Friday, but will keep a regular schedule this weekend.
