An African art exhibit opened in the Bronx today.
Over 26 artists contributed art to the African art exhibit at Hostos Community College in the Bronx.
Artist Imo Nse Imeh says a lot of his art was inspired by the African diaspora, which references communities throughout the world that are descended from the historic movement of peoples from Africa.
Other artists used gender as a way to illustrate their contributions. Artist Seyi Adebanjo says he wanted to show a different narrative about women and about gender fluidity and spirituality in Nigeria.
