All NYC beaches closed to swimmers today
All New York City beaches are closed to swimmers Tuesday, according to city officials.
The closure comes as a precaution measure as Tropical Storm Hermine enters the area.
The storm was anticipated to bring heavy rain and high winds with the potential for dangerous rip currents and coastal flooding, but tracked further east, missing the impact zone for most of the tristate area.
During the weekend, the city was on alert for Hermine, causing some people to completely cancel or change their holiday plans.
Beachgoers were also not able to swim in the water yesterday, but it didn't stop them from making the most of their day off.
