The man accused of pulling the trigger at an Old Timers Block Party back in July was in court Monday.
The family of Jason Pagan, one of the victims killed in the Brownsville shooting, filed out of court asking for prayers.
Kyle Williams, 20, is accused of shooting the 38-year-old father in the head and torso. He was arrested in October and pleaded not guilty in court on Monday.
Old Timers Day is an annual Brownsville block party attended by thousands in July. It was broken up around 11 p.m. when police say bullets started flying.
Pagan's friend, who was with him at the time, says he is still shaken up. Officials confirmed that 12 people were struck but that this all started as a fight between Williams and Pagan- the only victim who didn't survive.
The incident is suspected to be gang-related, but loved ones say otherwise. Williams' lawyer received his video statement and other documents from the prosecution Monday who says Williams admitted to the crime in their custody.
However, Williams' court-appointed lawyer told News 12 off-camera that he wouldn't call it a confession just yet.
Williams is being charged with murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment. He's due back in court on Jan. 15.
