Police have made an arrest in the gunpoint robbery of $18 from a 77-year-old in Longwood.
Officials say Tyler Dortch pulled a gun on the man Monday inside an elevator at the SEBCO Senior Center along Southern Boulevard and Barretto Street.
News 12 reported that the man slid by security, then followed the victim into an elevator for six flights until the suspect and the victim were completely alone.
Video of the incident shows the suspect pull a silver handgun on the 77-year-old victim, pacing back and forth, holding the gun right up to his head. The victim stood still until he appears to swat the suspect away. He then handed over his money.
Dortch was charged with attempted assault, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon.
Dortch was walked out of the 41st Precinct Tuesday night, saying to reporters, "I apologize, bro. I'm a young man trying to make it, you with me?"
