A Hoboken man has died after he was assaulted in Jersey City early Saturday morning.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office says that police were called to the area of First Street and Marin Boulevard around 3 a.m. for reports of a street fight in the area. When police arrived, they found 38-year-old Luis Rivera on the ground with injuries on his face.
Authorities say that Rivera was taken to Jersey City Medical Center but died the next day. Officials say that the cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.
Hudson County officials arrested 29-year-old Joshua Espada on Oct. 23 and charged him with aggravated assault in connection with the case.
