Some residents in Morrisania say they are dealing with a constant parking nightmare caused by auto body shops.
Arthur Nichols told News 12 that cars without license plates are taking up street parking spots along Third Avenue near 165th Street and Franklin Avenue.
He claims the problem is spewing from an overflow of cars that come from auto shops along Third Avenue.
Rodger Meredith, of Muhlaya Auto Repairs, told News 12 that his shop and many others in the area are within the law.
The Sanitation Department says that it is working with the NYPD in making strides in combating the issue. So far this year, they have conducted 28 joint agency operations that have removed 310 vehicles around the city. It has also resulted in more than 550 summonses for illegally stored vehicles in the street.
