The Bronx County Building is getting a baby-friendly upgrade allowing fathers to do "diaper duty" as easily as mothers can.
Baby changing stations are now accessible to men and women at the Bronx County Building after a request was made by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

"When folks are coming here to get serviced from their government, to not provide them with basic service, which is a changing table for their children, I thought was unacceptable, and I'm glad they were able to fix it," says Borough President Diaz Jr.

The changing stations have been installed in bathrooms on the first several floors.
The borough president says his office was made aware of the issue after a man applying to get involved with a local community board brought it to their attention.

"No child, no matter what, should be changed on a floor or a hard bench and that was the case here prior to this," says Borough President Diaz Jr.

Borough President Diaz Jr. says he remembers when his children were little and he needed to change their diapers. He hopes these stations will help mothers and fathers who need to use the government building while taking care of their children.

"We want and support men to handle their fatherly business and the bar includes changing the diapers," says Borough President Diaz Jr.
