Best of the Bronx: Loeser's Kosher Deli
The owners of an old-fashioned Bronx deli shared their secret to success after running a successful business for more than half a century.
Loeser's Kosher Deli, a staple in the Kingsbridge community for the past 55 years, has been serving locals their favorite pastrami and knish dishes since its inception.
Owners Freddie and Elayne Loeser say the key to the deli's continued success is its impeccable service.
Customers say they stay for the food but habitually return to the deli because it's a family affair. They say they are drawn not only to Freddie, but to his wife and their children and grandchildren as well.
The owners say that their definition of success is working hard, taking care of customers and providing great quality food with equally great prices.
Freddie Loeser says being a family unit is very important. He says that he is dedicated to his family just like he is dedicated to serving his customers' needs.
He also says everyone who enters his deli eventually becomes family.
The Daily Mail recently named Freddie Loeser the "Pastrami King."
