Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. says the Bronx did not have much say in the plan to rezone neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs.
The City Council passed a mandatory inclusionary housing plan last week without feedback from the people who would benefit from it, Diaz says.
Diaz says in Mayor Bill de Blasio's original plan, some low-income New Yorkers would not even qualify for the lowest level of affordable housing.
He says he is pleased that the City Council modified that original plan, but says the plan still doesn't do enough to help many working Bronx residents.
Diaz says he also feels that de Blasio did not consider other issues of importance to residents, like sanitation, transportation hubs and safety.
