A Bridgeport hairstylist was fatally shot and her friend was critically injured while the two were scouting out a location for a new hair salon.
The incident happened Wednesday in front of 848 Maplewood Ave. around 11:01 p.m.
Friends say 41-year-old Myoshi Bagley, of Bridgeport, was a well-known hairdresser who was working to support her family before she was shot and killed.
Police say 28-year-old David Belle, also of Bridgeport, was critically wounded during the shooting. They say Belle spent hours in surgery at Bridgeport Hospital.
Officials tell News 12 that Bagley was apparently an innocent bystander. A family friend says she leaves behind two children. Her oldest is currently in college.
Police say they are in the process of examining surveillance video and trying to figure out if Belle may have been the target of the attack.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Bridgeport police at (203) 581-5100.
