Bronx Community Charter School transforms into museum on Bronx River
Students have transformed their school into a museum about the history and revitalization of the Bronx River.
The Bronx Community Charter School studied the history of the river for several weeks. Dozens of students have been presenting their exhibits and projects about the different stages of the river and how it became polluted over the years.
They also got a chance to take their learning outside of the classroom by taking boat rides and studying plants and animals native to the river.
Students say the hands-on experience will help them continue their mission to preserve the fresh body of water.
The school will be taking on the topic of the civil rights movement and struggle for equality in the coming weeks.
