Councilman Andy King brought the community together Friday for the first ever New Year's Day Ball for the 12th District.
The councilman invited elected officials from all over the Bronx for the event and he says his goal is to ensure a positive outlook on 2016.
"Let the next generation know that there are people that have paved the way...we're relying on you to pick up the mantle and move the community forward," said Councilman King.
Councilman King was joined by Mayor Bill de Blasio at the event.
