The Bronx District Attorney hosted an event in Longwood Saturday to try and help people who have committed low-level crimes.
Bronx D.A. Darcel Clark says the "Another Chance" event is a big part of criminal justice reform. The event allows people to speak firsthand with a criminal court judge, as well as attorneys from the D.A.'s office and the Legal Aid Society at Thessalonia Worship Center.
Organizers say the event gives people the chance to learn about sealing old convictions and expunging marijuana possession convictions faster. The summons warrant forgiveness program gives people the opportunity to clear their records.
About 226 warrants were cleared at last year's event.
