One Bronx family is offering holiday gifts to needy people in the borough.

After nearly a decade in social work and helping out people who were down on their luck, Michelle Maynard decided she was going to play Santa this year, and is leading her family to create and deliver care packages for the homeless.

Items in the packages include socks, gloves, soap, tissues and toothpaste.

 

While the project is still new for the family, the Maynards say they hope to target people standing outside of shelters.
