Bronx grocery store closes after fire
A grocery store on Courtlandt Avenue is now closed after it sustained severe damage in a fire Saturday afternoon.
Mike's Family Deli and Grocery Store was a daily stop for many who say they are sad to see what happened.
"I come here a lot and it's like a family store, that's a fact," says Jeremiah Banks. "[The owner] knows me, he knows my kids. Mike, that's my dude. He's a good man. He looks out for everybody when he can. This is a good store."
Customers are hoping it won't be long before the store is back up and running.
Mustapha Elbouchtoui, who owns a store down the street, says it all happened very quickly. Elbouchtoui says that the owner, Mike, lost everything inside of his store.
